We’ve Rebranded! From Online Photo Submission to RemotePhoto
Dear CloudCard Online Photo Submission Customers,
The TL;DR: We’ve made the decision to rebrand our Online Photo Submission product to RemotePhoto. Your experience with the software will remain exactly the same, the only change you will notice is our branding. We want to explain some of the reasons for making this decision in the paragraphs below.
As many of you know, CloudCard got its start in higher education. The business was launched 9 years ago with the release of our first and only product, Online Photo Submission. We named our product “Online Photo Submission” because it was the language higher education institutions were using to describe what our software does. Candidly, it’s not our favorite domain name, but it made finding us on the internet much easier!
Due to its exhausting length, most people started referring to our product as “CloudCard” which quickly became confusing for customers outside of higher education. We’d often have to explain that we have nothing to do with cards and everything to do with photos. “RemotePhoto” is easier to say than “Online Photo Submission” and it clearly communicates what we do - remote ID photo capture.
Rebranding to RemotePhoto also gives us a chance to communicate our point of view on the remote photo capture market. There’s currently a mix of in-house, email, and software solutions for capturing photos remotely. As we step back and look ahead to what’s next for ID photo innovation, we’re convinced that AI will play a significant role. More specifically, we think every ID photo will be processed using AI. In order to make this future a reality, we are pouring significant resources into RemotePhoto’s AI, Helper Bot. With renewed vision and excitement, we look forward to the next 10 years of delivering quality id photos using AI.
We have the best customers on the planet. Thank you for trusting us with your business. Here’s to the exciting years ahead!
All the best,
Luke Rettstatt, Managing Director
